Becoming Motherland is the solo exhibition catalog by Denver-based Korean American artist Sammy Seung-min Lee, accompanying her exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver from March 5 to July 5, 2026. Marking Lee’s return to Korea more than three decades after immigrating to the United States, the exhibition explores home, displacement, memory, motherhood, and belonging through sculpture, installation, sound, video, and artist’s books. Featuring newly commissioned works and intimate reflections on Lee’s journey between Seoul and Denver, the catalog brings together critical essays and conversations that illuminate the personal, cultural, and material layers of her practice.
